Romagnoli Accordions

The shop is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I had them install a strap bracket on my button box. I was visiting from out of town and they were able to install it that day for me! They seem to be really cultivating a community of accordion players. I got to chat with two other accordion players, one of the family owners and a technician while I was there. This is definitely a destination store for me.

I grew up watching my dad and other amazing musicians playing concertina and accordion. I was looking around for months for a nice first concertina to learn on. I came across this beautiful mid 1950s Star Streamline Quad and called up Romagnoli Accordions. I believe I spoke with Rosanne but it’s been a few weeks now. I just had a couple questions about the box’s condition and the conversation was very pleasant and friendly. She told me it’s in very good and working condition. So I bought it right then! My dad has always played Star concertinas so he’s very proud that I picked this one. I can’t thank you guys enough for getting this amazing instrument into my hands! Note on shipping: everything was very carefully and thoughtfully packaged and arrived perfectly. It came with the hard case and a towel to place on your knee when playing. Shipping was super smooth. Very classy!

The service was so friendly, fast, and affordable! I have a small 1950's 12-button LoDuca Bros accordion - it was purchased for $50 at a yard sale! I knew it would need a bit of work at some point, but I did about 60 performances with it before I as able to research where to take it. I called ahead but didn't get an answer so just chanced taking the 40 minute drive out to Oak Lawn. Renae at the front desk was just wonderful - so personable and friendly, taking it apart immediately to have a look. I knew it needed a replacement latch on the bottom (easy replacement!), and Renae found that some of the keyboard reeds were leaking air (another simple, quick fix!). To-boot, she cleaned the entire instrument, inside and out, and put a backpad on it! It's like a new instrument! All of this while I waited and looked around and played some of their beautiful instruments. I hope to go back to get a bass strap when they get them in. This is literally the only place to go in the Chicago area for accordion service, so it's just wonderful that the service is so lovely and affordable!

We went there to get a new bass strap. Everyone was excellent, kind, friendly, and fixed our accordion while we waited. Had a lovely experience just chatting about the history of the store and seeing the other resources they were connected to. We haven’t made it out for a squeeze Saturday yet, but we did get in touch with an instructor for private lessons through their website as well.

Little store full of expert knowledge of the accordion by the people that work here. Repair service is reasonably priced. Love the instruments here. We purchased two accordions.
