Players Guitars

So I ended up getting a set of PRS Phase III tuners at a good deal for my S2. Come to find out later the tuning holes needed to be enlarged to accept the tuners. After spending some time on google and calling around to places who had no ideas what I was talking about I landed on Players Guitar! Immediately from my phone conversation with Mike I could tell this was the place to go. I dropped off my guitar at about 2pm on January 10th and was literally called the next day less than 24hours later to let me know the guitar was ready for pickup. This is the place to go for guitars. As a new customer who has never shopped here before I felt welcome and in good hands with my instrument. The job turned out flawless and better than I could have expected. Mike took the necessary care with this guitar as he could see it was important to me. Also the price was very fair and I always like to support local businesses. I will be back in the future and recommend this store to anyone who wants any quality work or simply advice on guitars.

This is hands down the best guitar shop not only in Chicago, but anywhere I've ever been or lived. Mike is very knowledgeable, heck everyone is. The prices are fair especially for the quality of workmanship they provide. I've never taken lessons from here, but I do know that they only hire the best teachers. This place has amazing reviews already, and it is well deserved. Everyone takes pride in what they do at Players. Players did an incredible job repairing a guitar with significant neck damage. Fit, finish, and paint are absolutely perfect! The neck doesn’t show even a hint of prior damage. Cannot recommend this shop highly enough.

The owner is one of the coolest dudes I’ve ever met. I won’t let anyone else touch my guitars to set them up and made adjustments to the truss rod. He’s super kind too, always happy to see anyone that comes in of any skill level, he’s just happy to see you. HIGHLY recommend everyone goes here for all their guitar needs, especially to have them adjusted to ensure action and intonation are perfect. So far, he has set up my SG, replaced a pickup on it (Gibson Dirty Fingers), and set up my ESP Eclipse.

I recently refinished my 1988 Squier II and brought her in for wiring in a new humbucker and general maintenance. Players does incredible work and I highly recommend them! If you go anywhere else you're nuts.
