Sparky's Guitars

Sparky's has now become one of my favorite guitar shops in Chicagoland! Not only do they stock great gear, the employees I spoke with (Robert and Jim) were really kind, knowledgeable, and made me feel welcome in the store — I wish every guitar shop were like that! Jim was also really great with helping me trade in some gear, and I'm very pleased with the new guitar (Iconic Tamarack Telecaster). Definitely worth a visit!

I brought in my Epiphone Es335 for a professional set up and tune up and pretty up and I was absolutely blown away with how incredible the work was. The guitar plays the best it every has, looks and sounds the best it ever has and I have Sparks to thank for it. The owner is an incredibly down to earth dude who clearly just loves music and loves what he does. The shop is pristine and selection is plentiful. It's amazing to see that shops like this still are around in the Amazon era, please go shop, learn or get repairs done there. You will not regret it. As long as the lights are on this is where I'll bring my guitars. Stay away from chains, they have ruined enough. The quality is here, the knowledge is here. Check it out!

This guy made my day. I was in one time, was able leave confidently with exactly what I wanted, with nothing but patience, guidance, and accurate information. I want to echo some of the other reviews, I'll be returning. I tried to go back the next day because I couldn't stop thinking about a guitar and the only downside is he needs occasional time off and it's closed on Sunday's. Can't remember the last time I was excited to go back to a store, give them more money, and not only get what I want but be happy the money was going to the right kind of people. I mean, it's also smashed in between municipal trucking businesses which just adds to the hobbit-holeness of it. Little guitar Shire.
