Outlier Audio

I am so glad I made the trip from Glen ellyn to outlier audio to get my korg electribe Mx fixed. I had dropped it with a jack adapter in one of the jacks. And sure enough it landed right on that side of the unit, and it busted through and broke a piece loose on the inside. I chose outlier bc of the cool name initially, and I didn’t want to go to guitar center, which is the only place near me that I could find from a Google search for audio repair, bc I couldn’t put my faith in them to take good care of it unfortunately. Plus who doesn’t like to support local business :) He quoted me what seemed to be a fair price for the repair imo but I haven’t ever really had to have my audio equipment repaired before so I have nothing to compare it to…. But let’s just say I didn’t mind paying the price he quoted me to get my beloved sequencer fixed. I was aware that it likely wasn’t a complex repair after I dropped it and he said that it would be fairly simple. The price reflected that imo. I was very relieved to hear that he could do it. I brought it in on a Thursday near closing time and it was ready by 11am Saturday. When I picked it up I was delighted to hear it working again as it should, and I didn’t notice at first but he had also cleaned the exterior very well and I’m assuming probably the interior as well. I was not expecting that level of care and detail. It looks even better than the day I received it if you can believe that :) Again I am very happy with the repair work I had done by outlier audio. I brought in my Pro-ject turntable for repair and he not only got it working he also made sure the sound was as crisp as it can be. Highly recommend! Thanks Jon. :)

Jon at Outlier Audio was great. Sooo fast repair and reasonably priced. I am so happy to be able to play my records again on my 1960s Magnavox stereophonic. Go to Outlier Audio 5342 N Northwest Hwy in Chicago.

I’ll echo what has been said about Jon. He knows what he’s doing with pro audio gear. My Yamaha HS7 took a hard tumble (all my fault) and it started buzzing. I honestly contemplated trying to fix it myself but I said screw it - find someone that knows this stuff better. He got me back up and running in less than a week. Any concerns I had, he addressed them. Price is definitely reasonable - you’re paying for his time, shop upkeep, and knowledge. Jon has the expertise and background for this stuff. If you need your pro audio gear fixed, I wouldn’t go to anyone else. Definitely a neighborhood gem, if you ask me.

Jon at Outlier Audio did a fantastic job repairing my Def Tech 7002's. To think I considered throwing them out! He quoted me a fair price and got them back to me in less than a week. He even helped me load them into the car. I will absolutely refer him to friends and family.
