Jan 17, 2025 路 jamie BrownThere is only one other music store in town that sells reads but only Quinlan & Fabish sells the reads that I use. This would be a great thing except that everytime I go in to the store I feel either judged or profiled. In not quite sure which one. When I try to engage the staff in conversation about music they've never heard of any of the sax players I bring up and they are short and dry with talking about their musical preferences or experiences. Overall for a reed that costs $30 and some change it's an awkward feeling interaction experience and vibe just about every time.
Jul 19, 2023 路 Derrick ColemanThe ligature that came with my son's clarinet (which I purchased from them) was defective, as were the cheap replacements they tried to give me. They did not fit the mouthpiece properly and kept sliding off the top of the mouthpiece. My son's instructor recommended a specific ligature, so they ordered it for me. When I went to pick it up, they refused to give me any sort of discount on the ligature that actually works. So, in order for my son to be able to play the instrument we purchased from them, we had to purchase a different ligature. It wasn't crazy expensive ($26), just the principal and poor customer service is what upset me. I was trying to support smaller businesses, but if I would have been aware of the lack of effort on their part to ensure their product was satisfactory, I would have just ordered it from a different, cheaper music store online. Edit: Since this review, they have contacted me and resolved the issue.
