I will start by saying I am not easy to please and I have very high expectations. I have researched and spoke to every handpan maker in the USA that would answer me. I bought an other well known handpan and a few cheap ones on Amazon, which were all returned, so I can say with all honesty that Isthmus is by far the best in quality and in customer service as well as has an up to date website. When you are spending thousands on an instrument you want to feel confident in your supplier and maker. I got the stainless steel D Kurd 10 note handpan from Isthmus and I absolutely love it! No exaggeration there. This company is on point! From day one we were talking on the phone. Robert called me shortly after I emailed them, which I appreciated. He was informative, super friendly and took as much time as I needed. He patiently answered all my questions. He was not the least bit pushy or pressuring. I wrote him constantly about which scale I would like best. I wanted to hear two of them side by side because I was struggling with two scales that were close. I got a video text the same day, of Robert playing the two handpans side by side so I could hear them together. He was awesome! I even wrote to him after I recieved my handpan and he answered me right away with the same kindness and courtesy as before. Jenny even followed up with me to make sure I was happy and sent me videos and some links to help me learn my handpan. This company is the real deal. My handpan sounds like heaven and the ding is so sensative I can just brush my hand lightly across the top and she sings. The sustain is incredible too! The pan is also pretty not rough like I have seen some other handpans. Their saying is " Love at first sound!" and they are not joking! These people know there stuff and it shows in the quality of all their products. I will definitely be back when the time comes to add to my collection. I almost forgot they shipped it the same day I paid for it so I got it super fast, 4 days!!!! Thank you Isthmus for making this a great experience.

I received a handpan from Isthmus Instruments as a gift. It is really wonderful and shipping was very fast. I also got myself a handpan stand, and wow does it make a huge difference for me as I'm quite short...it makes playing so much easier! Great quality and USA made which is also awesome.

My experience with Isthmus was nothing short of amazing. I visited their workshop try out some scales and see their workshop. Robert had a few scales set up for me to try. Being a beginner player, I wasn't sure which scale was right, but sure enough there was a handpan that just clicked and I ended up leaving with it. Their instruments sound BEAUTIFUL, and customer service is great. I highly highly recommend them! UPDATE: 6 months later and I love my handpan even more! I purchased a D Celtic Minor handpan from Isthmus, a 7-note model for beginners because I am a complete novice. It was shipped promptly and arrived 5 days after ordering. The instrument is beautiful, with an eye-catching purple cast from the nitriding process. It came with a very nice backpack-style case, of much higher quality than I expected. As far as I can tell (novice!) the tuning is perfect. Communications before and after purchase have been pleasant and friendly. I'm very happy that I chose Isthmus!

I recently purchased the C Golden Gate handpan and I couldn’t be more thrilled with my experience! From the start, Robert and Jenny took the time to personally reach out with kind and thoughtful notes, which I truly appreciated. It's rare to receive such personal attention, and it really made me feel valued as a customer. As a beginner to playing musical instruments (this is my first!), I’m excited to explore something new as I approach retirement, and the C Golden Gate handpan feels like the perfect fit. The scale is absolutely beautiful, and I’m eager to start my musical journey.
