The luthiers here are top notch! I purchased an Ironbird online from a shop in Tennessee and it arrived damaged...this place came highly Recommended and I see why. You literally cannot tell where the damage was and the price was surprisingly lower than expected!!! They were honest, thorough and hit it out of the Park! They got some killer guitars and other gear in the showroom as well, a def must stop for any musician in the area....and If you're in need of luthier work don't hesitate to give them a call. This is quality work, and I'm completely satisfied with the results - Tommy Baumgardner A++++ ⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐

Apr 07, 2025 · Tommy Vonn RiotI would recommend these guys if you’re in or around the Indy area, super easy to work with, and not to mention knowledgeable on anything with strings. I brought a couple of my guitars in for setups, and got them back a couple of weeks later playing like an absolute dream so far.
Mar 15, 2025 · Cameron VogelI was really impressed with not only the quality of work, but the time these guys take to make sure that you understand what you’re paying for and why the proposed fix is the best route to go. It’s obviously a sensitive position to have someone working on your instrument (your baby), and I believe excellent communication is the icing on the cake for the folks at Indy string theory. It’s clear that they take pride in what they do and actually care. Couldn’t recommend them enough, if you need an expert luthier to doctor your instrument. Thanks so much to Brent and team!
Jan 24, 2025 · Colin O'BrienThese folks have been taking care of me and my guitars since 2018. I have never had anything short of stellar work and excellent service. I regularly recommend them to other musicians.
Mar 06, 2025 · Mike TeasleyI don't normally leave reviews, but Indy String Theory is worthy of it. The full review is included below, but in short, taking your instrument here is like having a good friend who happens to work on guitars. They don't charge you more than fair value for the repair, are honest and upfront with the price/timeline, and seem genuinely happy to do their work. You can't ask for anything more from a small business guitar shop. Indy String Theory did incredible work and has earned a lifelong customer. * * * Full Review & Experience * * * In December 2020 I brought in an old 1973 Ibanez Les Paul with the intent to get it a full refret, new nut, bridge, tailpiece, and tuning machines. Because this is a 'lawsuit era' guitar, much of it was not built to 'typical' guitar specs and presented some unique (and unexpected) challenges for the repair tech, Cody. From the headstock being unusually thick, creating a challenge for installing the new tuning machines, to the neck having an absurd amount of lacquer, making the new nut and refret remarkably hard - the folks at Indy String Theory got it done. These additional challenges meant my repair took a bit longer, but I was never worried. Cody would call me nearly every week for an update on his progress. He was honest with how much time this repair "should have taken" and was adamant he would not charge me more than the quoted amount even though him taking longer. This experience checks all the boxes of a great team and small business - I cannot recommend them enough. * * * Pictures * * * Included below are before and after pictures with the 'before' being the guitar in the red case the day I took it in and the other being the day I brought it home.
