They were able to value the instruments appropriately and even helped me with valuation and sales of some vintage parts. Their help in selling these on consignment resulted in a higher selling price (even with the commission) than if I had done all the work of selling myself. I have been selling as a top rated store on Reverb for a decade. I no longer had the time to sell these unique items with the additional care that must be taken to ensure safe delivery to the buyer. I discovered Tone Chasers looking for the most mundane of items possible from a music store of this caliber- guitar picks- and refused to drive 25 mins to Firehouse/Guitar Center. This place showed up on my search as only a 6 min detour on my way home, thinking there wasn't a "downtown GR" music store last time I searched, I decided to check it out. I'M GLAD I DID. Turns out they JUST opened in Nov of 2024, and though the space was in transition of being built out, the inventory of unique guitars and the owner Paul's absolute welcoming demeanor meant I spent the following 2 hours or more- right up till close- in there this Friday night. I was able to play a handful of guitars I could only dream of owning some day. When Paul's vision for this space is fully realized, it will be a special musical retail and collaboration space... More than it is already just two months in!
