Music Boxx Records

This is the best place to buy music in all of southeastern Wisconsin. The selection is amazing, and the prices are the absolute best. If you are a music collector, or if you are considering the hobby at all, you need to visit this place at least once. It is well worth the road trip, with many other amazing shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Great selection of new and used vinyl. Prices seem in line with what you'd find every where else and used are what you'd expect depending on the condition. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Getting back into vinyl was one of the best things I've done this year and these guys have the hook up.

Not the biggest shop around, but they tend to have a good variety still. Owner is a nice guy and enjoyable to talk to.

This is a nice little independent record shop+.(cd's, movies, etc.) There is a pretty decent collection. The staff is always friendly and ready to answer any questions you may have. They definitely cornered the market for vinyl in this area. Which brings me to my only gripe...the mark-up on their records is a bit much. I love going to record shops to dig and for the experience but I have a hard time not looking at my phone for a cheaper price on discogs/eBay/Amazon 😱 Edit: 04/17/2019 I decided to update my review upon receiving a response from the store owner of music boxx on my review. Mainly just to address the "prices" comment. First off let me start by saying...I love the shop. Music Boxx. I try and go there as much as I can. I stand behind the idea and concept of supporting local businesses..in this case, a record shop. The staff are indeed friendly..and its always been a pleasant experience. Which is why I come back. Now I've lived in Chicago and Arizona and I frequented the record shops there. Mainly Reckless Records(Chicago) and Zia Record Exchange(AZ). I've been to record shops around the country from Cali to Tennessee...New York to Ohio....and plenty in between...so I'm just making an observation really. I went to Music Boxx for RSD 2019 and it was my first time going to that shop for RSD. I only found 1 item that I wanted but that's not the point...I'm totally ok with that because I had fun. I picked up Ol Dirty Bastard's - Intoxicated 12" single.(r.i.p. ODB...I'm a fan but the record was not anywhere near the top of the list for this year's "must haves". (RSD 2019) Here's why I said what I said about the mark up on records at Music Boxx. *RSD price +current price As of 04/17/2019 Ol Dirty Bastard's - Intoxicated 12" single *+Zia Record Exchange(AZ) $15.99+tax *+Reckless Records(Chicago) $15.99+tax +Currently on Discogs 8.00 + shipping $13.00 total (media M sleeve M factory sealed...NEW) Music Boxx $17.99+tax! ...I still have my original receipt and price sticker. (I keep the shrink wrap on most all my records.) That's a little on the high end dont ya think? I know you gotta make money to stay in business..but yikes! Now granted it's RSD and I completely understand the concept of supply and demand. Music Boxx is the only place in this town(that I know of) to get vinyl unless you count target and best buy...which I don't! I love the store...seriously. And I love having a record right in front of me to look at before buying. This is just one example but in the end...this is just an observation based off my experiences. This is not at all a negitive review. Listening to and collecting records is a passion of mine. It's an expensive one so I do as much research as I can to get the best prices and deals without lowering my standards. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL RECORD STORE!

These guys have great records and great prices. I have never walked out empty handed!! They have a good selection of most any genre of music. New and used available. Used records are clean and priced to sell. Great selection. They also have a lot of cds for sale. Thanks Music Box!!!
