Richard was very helpful and knowledgeable. I was interested in a pitch pipe and metronome and we talked about our lives in music, and his wife's reputation as a concert pianist; all three of us are pianists. My God daughter, the Michigan-born musician Maggie Cocco, recommended the shop. Richard correctly pointed out Annie's is unique in the country. As Maggie would put it, they "educate and elevate" and are, along with Leader Dogs for the Blind, what Rochester can be most proud of. They have and do it all! Excellent and courteous service. A MUST SEE.

Nov 29, 2024 · Elizabeth Anne Marguerite BertoniThis is a rare find. The owners are passionate about what they're doing here. Richard gave me a short lesson on the sheet music they've got, and they've apparently got the most sheet music of anywhere in the country. They've also got some interesting artifacts.
Apr 05, 2024 · martin bakeri am currently walking out of annie’s music dissatisfied and mad as hell honestly i just sat there for 45 minutes minimum waiting for them to change my ukulele strings while an odd customer was talking me up, finally the customer left after not even being able to be helped and then after waiting forty five minutes just to be told they can’t change my strings in a condescending manner, i had called an hour before and before i drove to the shop to see if it was a possibility just to wait and be told it wasn’t, never coming back. waste of my time before a work day
May 25, 2024 · Gabriella “Gabby” SahouriehI have to laugh reading some of the negative reviews here. Annie’s music is not trying to be all things music to all people and in my opinion it is rather foolish to expect it to be. What they are very good at is stocking virtually all of the required music for local competition, especially for school age piano students. This place is a literally a godsend for piano teachers. They carry a few accessories like guitar strings, clarinet reeds, etc., as a service. Obviously, they are not going to have a comprehensive selection of these things like you would find at Guitar Center or a store specializing in band rentals. To expect that they would carry these things at the same price as a high volume retailer is not very smart. I’m not looking forward to the day with all the brick and mortar music stores are gone and I am grateful along with many other teachers that Annie’s Music is there. I am sure it has been a struggle for many of these retailers to keep going during the pandemic and as things improve, I expect to see these businesses able to carry more stock, more variety and hire more employees. For now, I think we should all support them and treat the employees with the respect and kindness they deserve for being there to serve you.
Nov 07, 2021 · hnkahlMy daughter needed a new G string for her violin. I called ahead to make sure they could put the new string on for me. The person I spoke to on the phone said they could, but when I got to the store the sales person (should not be a music store employee) said only the owner of the store was the only one that does that. She sold me a half sized violin G string. Also had a bad attitude doing it. First off, why aren't all employees being trained to sell the correct sized strings, or how to put them on? If you want someone that knows anything about music go anywhere else. It also smelled like a musty basement. I first called to complain to the owner about my experience, and instead of saying he would work on correcting my poor coustomer service experience he sarcastically said, "I'm SO sorry you had such a bad experience." I drove a long way to go to a music store because there are none around me. Next time I will drive further though, and order my music off of amazon. I suggest that the store owner invest in some Febreze and at the very least hire some happy employees that know violins, and other string instruments, come in different sizes so they sell the correct thing. I didn't make the 40 minute drive to return the $6 string that didn't fit on my daughter's violin. DON'T GO HERE! I wish I hadn't
